Kathy strives to help clients reduce stress and worry in their financial lives by working with them to build and tend an investment plan based on their values, goals, risk tolerance and objectives.
For 27 years, Kathy has helped clients address their financial concerns and develop sound strategies by focusing on each individual’s specific needs. With extensive experience throughout major shifts in the markets, Katherine has dedicated her career to delivering the personalized investment planning services her clients deserve.
Kathy began her career as a Financial Advisor in 1998 with Morgan Stanley in New York City, where she developed her fundamental investment knowledge.
In 2002, Kathy earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification by completing an approved educational program, passing a rigorous examination and meeting stringent experience requirements.
She joined Wachovia Securities, a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors, in 2008 to take a team approach in providing personalized financial advice for individuals and families.
In 2016, Kathy obtained the Certified Investment Management Analyst® certification after completing her coursework through the MIT Sloan School of Management. Only 2 percent of financial services professionals hold CIMA® certification, which is delivered by Investment Management Consultants Association®* and is the only credential designed specifically for investment advisors and consultants.
In March of 2018, Kathy co-founded Rhinebeck Wealth Advisors. They opened their first location in Red Hook, NY in 2018 and their second location, in Great Barrington, MA in 2021. In the Summer of 2025, Kathy and Scott spun off their independent practice to form Berkshire Wealth Group.
Kathy’s passion for learning doesn’t end there. Growing up on a sailboat, Katherine learned to enjoy exploring new places and new people. She loves to travel and has driven cross country and traveled extensively abroad to places like Tanzania, India and many European countries. While earning her bachelor’s degree at Mount Holyoke College, she worked as a bartender at a small hotel for a summer in Paris. After college, she settled in New York City where she spent 13 years. In 2010 she moved to Woodstock, NY where she spent the next decade. She now lives in Great Barrington, MA with her husband, daughter, two dogs, two goats, and cat. Her mother also lives on their property.
Kathy spends her free time with her husband, Scott and their daughter, Ruthie. They love road trips and hiking and biking in the Berkshires. They like to stay active both physically and mentally. Kathy is an avid sailor and practices Ashtanga Yoga on a daily basis. She successfully completed three marathons in 2002, 2003, and 2023.

Financial Advisor
Scott is amazed that combining his deep love for truly getting to know people with his deep love for all things financial is something he can be paid to do. We are excited to have him aboard and look forward to clients and prospects getting to know his intellect, humor, and ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way.
As a member of Morgan Stanley’s Hedge Fund Analysis team during the depths of the financial crisis, Scott developed an appreciation for the complexity of the global financial system and is grateful for the opportunity to help individuals, families, and institutions navigate these ever-changing waters.
In addition to his time on Wall Street, Scott brings with him experience in the tax and software industries, as well as a deep and varied skillset gained from years spent as a stay-at-home father running multiple small businesses. He hopes to serve as an example to and advocate for parents (particularly fathers) who would like their lives to include both a meaningful professional career and a break from that career to raise children.
Scott holds undergraduate degrees in Philosophy and Economics, both from the University of Michigan. He was accepted into the Masters of Statistics program at Columbia University (but declined to instead care for his daughter).
He lives in the beautiful Berkshire Hills region of Western Massachusetts, with his wife, daughter, and many animals. His outside interests include hiking, travel, sports, and quantitative trading system design.
